The cox's Bazar
There are also a few very old wooden Buddhist temples at Ramu, a few kilometers from Cox's Bazar, well worth visiting.
Located at a distance of 152 km. south of Chittagong, the leading seaport of Bangladesh, Cox's Bazar is connected both by air and road from Dhaka and Chittagong.
A drive to Teknaf, which is the southernmost tip of the mainland of Bangladesh, is a memorable journey. A day trip to either Moheshkhali or Sonadia, the deltaic islands nestled among the gentle waves of the Bay of Bengal, will also be really interesting.
Other attractions for visitors are conch shell market, tribal handicraft, salt and prawn cultivation.
Besides, the longest sea-beach, Cox's Bazar and its adjoin areas have a lot of things to see and places deserve visit by the tourists.
Himchari: It is about 32 km. South of Cox's Bazar along the beach, a nice place for picnic and shooting. The famous "Broken Hills" and waterfalls here are rare sights.
Inani: It is about 32 km. South of Cox's Bazar and just on the beach, with the sea to the west and a background of steep hills to the east. Inani casts a magic spell on those who step into that dreamland. It is only half an hour's drive from Cox's Bazar and an ideal place for Sea-bathing and picnic.
Maheskhali: An island off the coast of Cox's Bazar. It has an area of 268 square kilometers. Through the centre of the island and along the eastern coast line rises a range of low hills, 300 feet high; but the coast to the west and north is a lowlying treat, fringed by mangrove jungle. In the hills on the coast is built the shrine of Adinath, dedicated to siva. By its side on the same hill is Buddhist Pagoda.
Ramu: This is a typical Buddhist village, about 16 km. from Cox's Bazar, on the main road to Chittagong. There are monasteries, khyangs and pagodas containing images of Buddha in gold, bronze and other metals inilaid with precious stones.
One of the most interesting of these temples is on the bank of the Baghkhali river. It houses not only interesting relics and Burmes handicrafts but also a large bronze statue of Buddha measuring thirteen feet high and rests on a six feet high pedestal. The wood carving of this khyang is very delicate and refined.
The village has a charm of its own. Weavers ply there trade in open workshops and craftsmen make handmade cigars in their pagoda like hous

The sundarbon
In the south western part of Bangladesh, in the district of greater Khulna, lies the Sundarbans, "the beautiful forest." It is a virgin forest which until recently owed nothing to human endeavour and yet nature has laid it out with as much care as a planned pleasure ground. For miles and miles, the lofty treetops form an unbroken canopy, while nearer the ground, works of high and ebb-tide marked on the soil and tree trunks and the many varieties of the natural mangrove forest have much to offer to an inquisitive visitor.
Here land and water meet in many novel fashions. Wild life presents many a spectacle. No wonder, you may come across a Royal Bengal Tiger swimming across the streams or the crocodiles basking on the river banks. With the approach of the evening herds of deer make for the darking gladeswhere boisterous monkeys shower Keora leaves from above for sumptuous meal for the former. For the botanist, the lover of nature, the poet and the painter this land provides a variety of wonders for which they all crave.
The Sundarbans is a cluster of islands with an approximate area of 3600 sq. km. forming the largest block of littoral forests. It's beauty lies in its unique natural surrounding. Thousands of meandering streams, creeks, rivers and estuaries have enhanced its charm. Sundarbans meaning beautiful forest is the natural habitat of the world famous Royal Bengal Tiger, spotted deer, crocodiles, jungle fowl, wild boar, lizards, rhesus monkey and an innumerable variety of beautiful birds. The London Underground
An underground is an electrically operated underground railroad. Its construction was first stimulated in 19th century. The world’s first underground was the brainchild of Charles Pearson, solicitor of the city of London. The first phase between Farrington to Paddington begun in 1860 and completed in 1863. The construction was done in the cut-and covers method an arched brick structure was first constructed in an open trench and then had a sulphurous atmosphere. In spite of that, the subway attracted about 10 million passengers in its first year of operation. Its primary success encouraged additional construction in 1886. Instead of the old cut-and-and cover method, this time a new construction device was used. James Henry Greathead developed a steel-made cylindrical tube which could be forced forward into the ground by means of hydraulic Jacks.
This method made possible to dig tunnels deep enough not to disturb surface buildings and traffic. The depth of the tunnels then necessitated the installation of lifts at the stations. Electrification of the lines made it possible. Later on, lifts were replaced by escalators. With the use of electricity, great expansion took place and by the early 1970s London had 102 miles of underground lines, the second largest in the world. The largest underground (or subway as it is called there) is now in New York. The increasing automobile congestion in metropolitan cities has spurred the building of new underground or subway system in other cities too. Now it is one of the greatest tourist attractions and best architectural beauties of world people.

The siberian Railway
The trans-Siberian Railway is the longest railway in the world. It is 4,607 mile long. It runs across Siberia, a vast Asian part of Russian, from Chelyabinsk in the Ural Mountains to Vladivostok on the pacific coast. Although studies of projects of the railway date from the mid-19th century, its construction actually began in the Czarist regime in 1891 and it was opened for use in 1905.The construction of the railroad encountered enormous problems including wide rivers, steep grades around Lake Baikal, in Eastern Siberia, extremes of temperature and political turmoil. But all obstacles yielded to human endeavour. Thirty-eight tunnels were cut through the mountains along the shores of Lake Baikal and the all Russian route, which was completed by 1971, convered a total distance of 5,973 miles from Leningrad to Vladivostok. Modernisation of the railway followed in the 1930s. It was really a single track but a second track was laid later and in the settlement of a Siberia industrial regions and mining centres with the core economic area of European Russia. The interest of the Trans-Siberian Railway should be preserved properly. Many tourists come here to travel this Railway.

With a span of 30 meters, the graceful semi-circular arch reached across the gorge of the Severn at its narrowest point. The iron Bridge was not only a singular example of new engineering but also a tremendous success. Its symbolic significance was great, not only in Britain but throughout Europe and the United States.
Severn Trent is extracting water here. I know we've all got to drink and wash but when are they going to stop giving it away to private customers free. Meter it and charge. We need water in the river too. It is very powerful bridge. Proper international fame and recognition came with the designation of the Gorge and the bridge as a World Heritage site in 1986. Originally a railway bridge it now carries the road to Melverley. It is the first industrial area to be listed as a World Heritage Site.

The greatest historical wall of china. It is the largest defence fortification and the greatest building enterprise ever undertaken by man. It is world largest wall. About 1500 miles long, this unique wall stretches from the Gulf of China of the Yellow sea along the northern frontier of china to Kansu province in the west. Hazrat Khan Ali Was buried there. The tomb is made of cut out stones. On the tomb there are writings in Arabic that he died on, 25 October, 1459. There is a beautiful mosque near the Mazar. Sometimes big fair took place beside the Mazar. Many people from different parts of the country came to visit this historical place. There is a big tank in front of the Mazar. The stately fabric of the monument stands on the eastern bank of a vast sweet –water tank. Clustered around by the heavy foliage of a low lying countryside characteristic of a seacoast landscape. The local people call it the Dighi of Khan Jahan Ali. There are some crocodiles in this big tank. They come near when the fakirs call and give them something to eat. It has seven longitudinal aisles and 11 deep bays by a forest of slender stones columns. From this columns spring rows of endless arches, supporting. The arches are six feet in thickness, have slightly tapering hollow and round walls. The internal and the exterior of the mosque give a view of rather plain architecture but the interior western wall of the mosque was beautifully decorated with terracotta flowers and foliage.
